Getting away with merger

Having barely recovered from the shock of Avnet and Bell's distribution übermerger, word reached me this week that more eyebrow-raising consolidation could be afoot in the channel.

Rumours persist that a couple of well-known VARs (something of an oxymoron, I know) are set to be bought imminently. The firms in question are professing ignorance, but why let that get in way of a good bit of gossip?

Personally, I've been thoroughly nonplussed by the lack of acquisitive interest in Dodgi. A prime location in Dagenham's fourth-largest trading estate, a hefty four-figure profit last year and resale partnerships with four of the top six voice-over WiFi gateway manufacturers - what's not to love?
