Halcyon shines light on its partner programme

Systems management vendor claims the move will help to strengthen its indirect arm

Systems management software vendor Halcyon Software has launched an EMEA partner programme to attract 12 additional channel partners.

Halcyon Software offers five systems management suites, each designed to monitor and control servers from any location around the clock.

Del Singh, business development manager at Halcyon Software, told CRN that it had attempted to resist the creation of a rigid tiered partner programme.

“It’s early days for us and we haven’t had a formal partner programme before,” he said. “We aren’t being as strict on partners as some channel programmes can be. It’s not a huge monetary investment for our partners, it’s more an investment of their time and commitment.”

The programme will provide VARs with a range of support and tools, such as deal registration, promotions and initiatives. Halcyon Software has claimed typical sale values range from £10,000 to more than £200,000, and that registered partners will be able to earn up to 40 per cent off the normal sales value.

Halcyon Software previously reached end-users through mainly direct methods, but Singh added that the introduction of 12 new partners, four of which are expected to be in the UK, will help it to strengthen its indirect arm.

Lorraine Cousins, managing director of Halcyon Software, said: “The relationship that Halcyon has with its resellers is for the long term. Resellers of Halcyon’s systems management tools can expect a high level of interest in the range of solutions available, and a quick sales cycle, coupled with a full reseller and training support programme.”

Haydn Parry, managing director of Halcyon partner Chilli IT, said: “This is a good move and will help to increase Halcyon’s focus within the channel. It is looking like part of a move to increase its international focus as well.”
