DrayTek looks to double VAR numbers

Router and firewall manufacturer exceeds initial reseller recruitment target and aims for continued success

Doubling up: DrayTek wants 100 Advanced Networking Partners by the end of 2009

Router and firewall specialist DrayTek has exceeded its goal of signing 40 VARs for its high-end channel programme this year and now wants 50 more.

The Advanced Networking Partner (ANP) programme was launched in June and 48 resellers have signed up. UK sales and marketing director Julian Hubble said about three-quarters were existing partners, with the rest being new recruits.

The programme focuses on the sale of multi-WAN and voice over IP port products, as well as unified threat management and firewalls.

VARs can benefit from marketing resources, sales and technical training and a dedicated support helpline, staffed by certified engineers.

Hubble claimed resellers can make margins of 30 per cent, adding that his firm’s in-house distribution wing could provide credit and logistics.

“The purpose of ANP is to identify partners with a higher level of technical capability and give them the right tools,” he said.
