CybaVerse secures over £1.1m to spur cybersecurity innovation
New funding follows the MSSP’s recent appointment of three IT vets to its leadership team
Hampshire-based MSSP CybaVerse has raised more than £1.1m in funding to propel innovation in its cybersecurity solutions.
The new investment will allow the company to drive team expansion and accelerate the development of its SaaS platform, CybaVerse AI.
Founded in 2018 by Gemma Blake and Oliver Spence, respectively CCO and CEO, CybaVerse has evolved from a boutique consultancy into a cybersecurity managed services provider through the launch of CybaVerse AI in March.
The services provider now counts ConnectedHealth, Crowdcube and Funding Loop as some of its clients.
The funding round - backed by FSE Group, Haatch, Founder & Lightning, including FSE angel investors and the University of Sussex Business Angels group – follows the company’s recent appointment of three senior leaders to further fuel expansion.
The new hires include Andreas Wuchner as chairman, Juliette Hudson as CTO, and Nicola Hartland as non-executive director and board advisor.
Bringing over 26 years of cybersecurity experience, Wuchner has previously held senior roles at Deutsche Bank, UBS, and HP.
His mission will be to help CybaVerse achieve its goals and further grow the company.
“I have been completely drawn to Ollie’s ambitions and goals and the company’s innovation and creativity, which I believe will significantly benefit the security community at large,” said Wuchner.
Hudson, for her part, has previously held the role of SOC regional manager at Kroll, as well as technical roles at Bupa and Symantec, and brings over her technical experience and knowledge.
Finally, Hartland, who has worked in cyber and technology for over 20 years, will be in charge of enhancing relationships with clients and scaling the company.
“As we continue to develop CybaVerse and our platform offerings, I believe they each have the necessary skills and experience to help us realise, and surpass, our ambitions,” said Spence.
