Michael Frisby has stepped down from his role at Infinigate Cloud, capping off a transformative nine-year tenure that saw him oversee the growth of the cloud services business from its inception to a €180m annual recurring revenue operation.

Frisby, who announced his departure on LinkedIn, reflected on a journey that began in late 2015 with the creation of Vuzion, a specialist Microsoft cloud distributor.

The company launched in 2016 and became a significant player in the cloud services space before its acquisition by the Infinigate Group in August 2022.

Since then, Frisby has been instrumental in integrating Vuzion into Infinigate’s operations, culminating in the rebranding of the business as Infinigate Cloud in 2023.

Under his leadership, Infinigate Cloud expanded across Europe and enhanced its secure cloud portfolio, establishing partnerships with major vendors such as Barracuda, WatchGuard, and SonicWall.

"In essence, I did my job of integrating it into the business. What I was doing in leading that as a standalone business had gone, so it was a natural end to the journey," he tells CRN when asked about the timing of the announcement.

Frisby’s leadership was marked by a focus on fostering innovation and driving operational excellence, principles he likened to Formula One’s philosophy of marginal gains.

With Infinigate Cloud now fully embedded into the broader Infinigate ecosystem, Frisby plans to take a break to spend more time with family and friends before pursuing his next professional venture.

“In the short term, I’m focusing on consultancy—helping Microsoft MSPs build out new practices, particularly around AI, data, and transitioning to cloud marketplaces, he says.

“Longer term, I’ll likely look for another MSP, maybe in the UK or Europe, that wants to grow through investment and acquisitions. That entrepreneurial opportunity and leading a business is where I find the most enjoyment."
