CRN partners with Nebula Global Services to offset travel emissions for Channel Awards 2024
The carbon footprint of attendees’ travel to and from the prestigious channel event was offset with the support of Nebula
This year’s CRN Channel Awards not only celebrated the best of the IT channel but also took a significant step towards sustainability.
In partnership with Nebula Global Services, CRN offset the carbon emissions associated with attendees' travel to Battersea Evolution in London for the prestigious event on November 14, 2024.
As one of the UK’s leading awards ceremonies for vendors, distributors, and resellers, the CRN Channel Awards attracts over 1,000 professionals from across the industry.
Recognising the environmental impact of large-scale events, CRN collaborated with Nebula Global Services, a specialist in sustainable business solutions, to measure and offset the carbon footprint of attendee travel.
The partnership involved calculating emissions generated by various modes of transport, including flights, trains, and car journeys.
These emissions were then neutralised through certified carbon offset projects funded by Nebula. These initiatives include reforestation, renewable energy projects, and blue hydrogen projects around the globe.
"Nebula recognise they have a responsibility to help shape the future direction of the technology channel community, commented Richard Eglon, CMO at Nebula.
“Therefore, we are fully committed to doing everything in our control to raise awareness of the impact we all have attending channel events throughout the year, such as the CRN Channel Awards and Nebula hosted events.
“Equally, Nebula acknowledges the importance of attending these events. Therefore, we felt duty bound to act with impact to minimise the affect on the environment, by committing to offset all the guests travel carbon footprint through a credible carbon removal scheme with Ecologi."
This collaboration aligns with CRN's and Nebula’s broader commitment to sustainability in the channel.
The initiative was well-received by attendees and industry leaders, many of whom acknowledged the importance of addressing climate challenges collectively.
