Jonas Hasselberg steps down as president and CEO of Proact
Hasselberg leaves after seven years at the helm
President and CEO of Proact Jonas Hasselberg has announced “with very mixed feelings” that he is leaving the company.
He joined the reseller in September 2018, taking over the role from interim CEO Peter Javestad, who succeeded Jason Clark.
Since he first stepped in six years ago, Proact has grown from an annual revenue of approximately SEK 3bn (£215.3m) to nearly SEK 5bn today and counts around 1,200 employees.
Under Hasselberg’s leadership, Proact also strengthened its focus on the UK, for example with the buyout of Manchester-based Cetus in 2020.
Since 2018, the company’s profits have gone up 70 per cent, and recurring revenues have grown to nearly SEK 1.8bn, mainly thanks to the company’s almost tripling cloud revenues.
More recently, the VAR’s UK revenues soared 6.3 per cent in Q3 FY24.
“It is with very mixed feelings that I have informed the board of my decision to step down as CEO of Proact,” said Hasselberg.
“Proact is an outstanding company, and I am proud to have had the privilege of leading and developing the company over nearly seven years alongside all the fantastic employees and the board.
“For me, this is a good time to hand over to a successor next year while I look forward with excitement and curiosity to the next step in my career.”
Anna Söderblom, chair of the board at Proact, added: “The board and I fully respect and understand Jonas’ decision to leave his position after leading the group through several successful years.
“Under Jonas’ management, Proact has developed fantastically in both financial and operational terms, and we have made significant moves toward our long-term financial goals.
“Hence, we are in a strong position to continue Proact’s growth journey.”
Jonas Hasselberg will remain in his position until a successor is appointed or until 16 June 2025 at the latest.
Proact ranks number 80 in CRN’s Top VARs 2024 List.
