You have asked. We have listened. It has been a tough year, and Q4 is busy. So we have extended the Sustainability in Tech Awards deadline to 22 November due to demand.

With the deadline fast approaching, here are some handy tips to help you score points with the judges

Please read the criteria thoroughly - every category has specially crafted criteria to help you increase your entry’s chances of winning. As long as you follow that as a guide, you will not go wrong.

Make sure your entry is relevant. It may seem a really obvious point, but if your entry does not actually fit the category, it will not score highly with the judges.

Explain why you are entering and more importantly what you are entering - never assume the judges will know anything about your company or initiative - set the scene.

Include stats and testimonials to back up your claims - everyone can make claims, but firmly backing that up with hard facts and supporting comments from customers/clients/partners is a sure-fire way to score points with the judges.

Try to make your entry appealing to read/look at for the judges. Remember the judges will be reading multiple entries, and the key is to make yours stand out for the right reasons. Try to spend a little time on the layout of the entry, include pictures and don’t just copy and paste a huge block of text. Videos are very welcome - but they must be five minutes or less. Every company has a personality, make sure it can be seen in your entry.

Keep it personal - tell us about the people behind the initiatives, share your company ethos and remember we are all human, and we want to hear what our fellow humans are doing to help save our planet.

Don’t submit the same entry for multiple categories - if you are going to enter more than one category, please make your entries different. If you don’t have the time to do that, pick one category that means the most and put all your efforts into submitting a fantastic entry.

Good luck everyone. We have a very strong panel of sustainability experts ready and waiting to read the entries. To submit your entry, please click here.

See you on 13 February at BAFTA in London!
