In a real coup for the Women and Diversity in Tech Festival, Jo Hamilton has been revealed as a keynote speaker for the event on 5 November in London.

In one of the worst miscarriages of justice in British history, Jo, along with over 700 other sub-postmasters/mistresses, faced false accusations and was wrongfully prosecuted during the Horizon IT scandal. The fallout completely shattered her life and career between 2000 and 2014, and the conviction was finally and rightfully quashed in 2021 after a long, drawn-out battle.

The whole affair, while widely covered by several key titles, including Computer Weekly and Private Eye, was brought to the front of the wider public's attention following the powerful Mr Bates vs The Post Office drama aired on ITV earlier this year.

People were left outraged by the ordeal and moved by the relentless pursuit of truth by Alan Bates, Jo and so many of their peers. But despite all the efforts, so many of them are still waiting for compensation, and the battle is by no means over. The lucky audience will not only hear about Jo's personal experience, but will be updated on where the case is at and what still needs to be done.

The event, taking place on 5 November at 133 Houndsditch, also has a number of other compelling keynotes and panel discussions during the day, and with a dedicated channel stream on offer, there will be something for everyone.

Also speaking at the event is Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson who will be sharing her thoughts on the importance of inclusivity in all sectors and setting everyone up for an inspiring day ahead.

The day also includes an exclusive mentoring session with a key group of experts in their field, so come along for advice and guidance, and meet people who are genuinely keen to help you take that next step in your career. Click here to register for and find out more about the mentoring sessions.
