Distology partners with Halcyon to ‘defeat ransomware’
Vendor simultaneously expands its partner programme in the UK
Cybersecurity specialist Distology has partnered with Halcyon to distribute its ransomware protection software in the UK.
The Texas-based vendor’s mission is to help protect organisations from disruptive ransomware attacks and prevent threat actors from triggering ransomware payloads.
Combining Halcyon’s data exfiltration prevention (DXP) – which aims to put a stop to extortion campaigns – with Distology’s business-centric approach to risk will aim to help firms resist ransomware attacks with minimal business impact.
This new announcement comes on the same day the vendor announced the expansion of its Halcyon Revolution partner programme in the UK.
The channel scheme aims to turn solution providers into “ransomware experts for their customers.”
The launch of Halcyon’s expanded partner track also follows the closing of its Series C funding round that valued the cybersecurity vendor at $1bn in November 2024, making it the 1007th US startup to become a unicorn.
“Halcyon is designed to work in concert with other aspects of the security stack to help companies maximise the return on their security investments” said Chris Catanzaro, VP of global MSSP and channels at Halcyon.
“Our partner programme expansion in the UK with Distology as a strategic partner will deliver the outcomes that business leaders want in response to ransomware – no business impact.
“With Halcyon’s anti-ransomware platform and Distology’s market acceleration, we can insulate customers from ransomware and give companies peace of mind.”
Lance Williams, CTO at Distology, added: “Our new partnership with one of the newest cyber tech unicorns, Halcyon, brings the potential to our partners to offer their customers a fundamental upgrade to their cyber defences to counter our greatest opposition: ransomware.”
“I’m confident that [Halcyon’s] ground-breaking technology, brilliant team of people, and complimentary fit with existing endpoint protection platforms will spark positive defence upgrades for end customers and buoyant business growth for our channel partners”.
Williams was named CTO of Distology last year, together with Sarah Geary who became CMO, the company referring to the appointments as "key" to its growth plans.
