FluidOne welcomes Graham Dickie as new CFO after a year of buyouts
Channel vet brings almost 20 years of experience as chief financial officer
Connected cloud solutions provider FluidOne has hired Graham Dickie (pictured) as its new CFO.
Dickie brings over 35 years of experience in the channel, starting his journey as an auditor for PwC.
Now a seasoned CFO, he first held the title in 2006, when he was hired as such by Aberdeen-based consulting and engineering company Wood Group.
He stayed there for three years before navigating as CFO throughout various multinational companies, such as TWMA, QM Environmental, Dominion Colour Corporation, and Flying Colours Corp.
Thanks to these different ventures, Dickie has grown accustomed to working in businesses with revenues of at least £100m, and has led projects centred on raising finance, improving profitability, and supporting sales teams with pricing strategies.
Dickie’s mission at FluidOne will be to boost its strategic financial planning and operations as the business has undergone important changes since a management buyout led by CEO Russell Horton and backed by private equity firm Livingbridge in 2019.
“I am delighted to welcome Graham to FluidOne and am very much looking forward to collaborating with him in realising our 2030 vision,” said Horton.
“He brings unparalleled financial experience in buy and build strategies, combined with an immediate cultural fit, making him the ideal person to take us to the next level.”
In less than six years, the business has quadrupled in size to revenues of £113m and has gone from a company specialising in communications and connectivity services to an IT and cybersecurity-led managed service provider, with over 50 per cent IT and cyber revenue mix and recurring revenues of over 70 per cent (according to its own figures).
The CFO joins as FluidOne enters a new phase of strategic expansion through organic growth and additional purchases, aiming to achieve a turnover of £300m by 2030, the company said.
“It’s exciting to be joining FluidOne at such a transformative time in their journey; I’m looking forward to further establishing the business as an industry leader within IT, cyber and communications solutions,” said Dickie.
The London-based reseller has made other changes to its leadership team in the past 12 months, with for example the appointment of James Butler as managing director for enterprise IT.
This company’s ambitions have also been fueled by its appetite for acquisitions, making nine buyouts in recent years, including Orca IT and SureCloud in 2024.
With this new appointment, FluidOne becomes the second acquisitive British reseller to reshuffle its leadership team this week.
On Monday, Focus Group announced the hiring of former Computacenter Neil Hall as CEO, alongside Peter Sweetbaum as chairman and Chris Morris as non-executive director.
