Phil Alton becomes director of Node4 Channel
The move follows “a 60 per cent year-on-year revenue growth”
Derby-based MSP Node4 has appointed Phil Alton as director of Node4 Channel, the company’s channel-focused division.
Alton will step up from head of account management, a position he has held since joining the organisation in January 2024.
He previously worked for various telecoms companies, starting as a sales manager for Your Communications in 2000, until it was acquired by Thus in 2006.
He then assumed the same position for different telecommunications firms, such as Pennine Telecom, Inclarity, and How2 Telecom.
In 2009, he took on the role of business development manager at Geo Networks, where he stayed until 2012.
He earned his spurs at Manchester-based B2B telecoms provider TalkTalk Business where he stayed for almost a decade, beginning as partner channel manager before eventually becoming partner account director.
Alton then joined channel giant BT wholesale, where he worked as senior manager of networks providers for over two years.
He is to replace Ashley Butcher, who has been Node4 Channel’s director since late 2023.
Butcher joins Manchester-based wholesale provider PXC as director of strategic partners cloud and security.
He announced the leadership switch in a LinkedIn post.
“After a 60 per cent year-on-year revenue growth performance this year and solidifying itself in the UK channel assisting MSPs with their cloud, data and managed services strategies, Node4 Channel continues its mission with a new leader in Phil Alton for its next exciting phase,” wrote Butcher.
This latest leadership overhaul comes follows an executive overhaul at Node4 over the last 12 months.
In May 2024, the MSP named Hannah Birch as group MD and Paul Bryce as chief experience officer (CXO).
A month later, Chris Woodhouse became chairman of the board.
In December, Richard Moseley became CEO, replacing Andy Gilbert who took on the role of president and board member.
Node4 ranks number 44 in CRN’s Top VARs List.
