Swedish reseller Proact IT has appointed company vet Magnus Lönn as president and CEO, less than two months after Jonas Hasselberg’s resignation.

After obtaining and MSc in applied physics and electrical engineering, Lönn started his IT journey in 1999 as a consultant for Teleca Software Solutions, where he worked for seven years, before joining US stock exchange Nasdaq in 2006 as a project manager, making his way up to associate VP eight years later.

He also brings over extensive experience as CEO, starting in 2016 as CEO of IT consultancy Objektfabriken, part of Time People Group.

He then became the head of the group in 2017, a position he held until 2022 when he joined Proact as business unit director for the Nordics & Baltics and deputy CEO of Proact Group.

“I am both honoured and excited to take on the role of CEO at Proact IT Group AB - a fantastic company with a strong market position, cutting-edge expertise, and a team of 1200 incredibly dedicated colleagues throughout 12 countries,” announced Lönn in a LinkedIn post.

As of time of publication, the company is involved in the UK, the US, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Czechia, Estonia, and Latvia.

“Together, we will continue to build on our success, drive innovation, and create even greater value for our customers,” Lönn continued.

“My focus will be on strengthening our cloud services, enhancing our datacentre solutions, and expanding our European footprint.”

Anna Söderblom, chair of the board at Proact, added: ''After a thorough and competitive recruitment process, we are pleased to appoint an excellent internal candidate to lead Proact forward.

“The board and I are convinced that Magnus, with his deep understanding of our business and customer needs, is the right person to drive Proact's continued development together with our experienced management team and dedicated employees.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jonas for his significant contribution to Proact during his nearly seven years with the company.''

The company will soon start looking for a new business unit director for Nordics & Baltics to fill Lönn’s now vacant role.

The new CEO and president will try to boost the reseller’s revenue, which went through a slow increase in FY24 due to a week fourth quarter.

The organisation’s UK arm ranks number 80 in CRN’s Top VARs List.
