US security vendor Sysdig has appointed Phil Hillhouse as its vice president of worldwide channel sales, amid a series of leadership reshuffles.

Hillhouse brings more than 25 years of experience in the IT channel, starting his journey as VP of sales, managed security and professional security services at IBM Internet Security Systems in 1999.

He assumed this role until 2008 when he joined SecureWorks as VP of sales, Americas channels, and strategic business development.

He onboarded with Symantec in 2010, where he worked for nearly five years as channel sales manager of different US regions.

In 2015, he took on the role of senior director of Americas channel sales at Zscaler, rising to sales director of Southeast and Mid-Atlantic within two years.

Hillhouse then moved back to Symantec for one year as Southeast regional VP.

His channel experience led him to join cybersecurity company IronNet, occupying different positions across the company over the years, such as senior director of MSSPs and channel, VP of global channels and cybersecurity, and VP of sales Americas.

He kept this title when moving to Menio Security in 2023, where he stayed for more than a year.

He entered the C-suite when joining Florida-based Digital Hands, at which he worked for nine months.

“[Hillhouse’s] leadership and experience will help position Sysdig for our next phase of growth,” wrote Gary Olson, CRO at Sysdig, in a LinkedIn post.

In addition to the new VP of worldwide channel sales, Sysdig’s leadership team is now made up by a number of former Zscaler executives.

CRO Olson, alongside CBO Crendal Kear, are both Zscaler vets who joined Sysdig last month.

During their time at the California-based cybersecurity firm, all three of them worked alongside William Welch, who became CEO of Sysdig in November last year.

The company also welcomed Sergej Epp as CISO in December 2024.
