Report: Daisy abandons 2e2 talks

The Times claims the loss of four big customers prompted telecoms firm's decision to pull out

Acquisitive Daisy Group is thought to have abandoned talks with ailing reseller 2e2, according to reports, which claim that Computacenter, Logicalis and BT may still be in the running to buy the firm.

The Times reports that the Newbury-based VAR is believed to have lost deals with Marks & Spencer, Vodafone, Citigroup and Kellogg over the weekend, which is cited as the reason for Daisy's withdrawal.

FTI Consulting, which was appointed as 2e2's administrator last week, had no comment to add, and Daisy was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.

The administrators last week said a sale of the firm was set to be completed in the "very near term", and the VAR has laid off almost 350 of its 1,442 UK staff.
