Logicalis acquires Jersey cloud provider iConsult

Global VAR expands Channel Islands footprint in managed services and hosting

Logicalis has bought Jersey-based SMB hosting specialist iConsult for an undisclosed sum.

Logicalis' parent Datatec said in its announcement that iConsult makes $2m (£1.2m) a year in annuity revenues from providing its hosted desktop, hosted mail, hosted document management, and hosted accounting software to the Channel Islands market.

Jens Montanana, chief executive officer of Datatec, said: "This acquisition adds scale to the Logicalis Managed Services offering in the Channel Islands which it acquired through the acquisition of the European subsidiaries of 2e2 in March this year," he said.

iConsult also operates in the UAE and Switzerland.

"We can now deliver cloud-based and hosted desktop and BYOD services to a larger customer base in the Channel Islands and increase Logicalis' revenue annuity base," Montanana said.

Logicalis acquired the European subsidiaries of failed solutions and services provider 2e2 in March, and is now looking to build on the expansion.

Jon Crichard, managing director of Logicalis Channel Islands, said the managed services provider is proving its commitment to the Channel Islands.

"This enhances our service capabilities, adding scale to our desktop solution to better serve the Channel Islands in the financial and professional services sectors, which are important for us," he said.

iConsult is a Microsoft, Citrix and NetApp partner, offering a range of managed services and helpdesk support. It boasts some 800 SMB customers, mainly in financial and professional services, on the islands.

Logicalis' data facility is based in Guernsey. The iConsult arm will be integrated with Logicalis Channel Islands.
