Insight EMEA cloud gets Colt legs

Partnership between Insight and Colt will boost services offering

Insight has teamed up with Colt on a cloud platform that will be available to EMEA networking, cloud and datacentre customers.

Justin Griffiths, EMEA product management, cloud and e-commerce vice president at Insight, said Colt technology and services would enable it to offer flexibility, capability and scale to 80,000 customers across Europe via the cloud.

"Colt's capability, credibility and resources can deliver services to meet the needs of our entire customer base from start-ups and SMBs to the world's largest corporations," he said.

According to Colt, the deal includes IP VPN access, co-location, vCloud services, cloud storage services, and Ceano on-demand IT services.

Scott Holmes, northern region cloud services director at Colt, said the company's services would help Insight offer its customers a wider range of IT and telecoms functions via single provider.

Colt operates in 23 countries and has a 46,000km European network including transatlantic network capacity.
