Former Kelway man rocks up at Stone

Steve Norman to helm Stafford system builder's push into infrastructure market

Stone Computers has hailed new business development director Steve Norman as a key recruit in its quest to crack the infrastructure services market.

Norman joined the Stafford-based system builder this week from Kelway, where he managed the mega-reseller's north-western sales operation.

Public sector specialist Stone launched a push into the server and storage market last year as part of its strategy to expand beyond its roots as a PC builder. Stone group marketing director Daley Robinson said Norman's experience at a leading infrastructure reseller like Kelway would bolster its efforts in this area.

"He is an important recruit in relation to where we are trying to get to in infrastructure services and brings with him experienced leadership in this space," Robinson said.

"We are trying to significantly develop our reach in terms of infrastructure into the public and education sectors. Our profits are on track to be significantly up on last year and that's testament to the fact that strategy is working."
