Epicor picks up one of its own resellers

Software firm grabs UK-based Dot Net IT to strengthen its sales, services and support team globally

Enterprise software vendor Epicor has bought one of its own channel partners to build out its ERP portfolio and strengthen its sales capabilities.

The firm bought UK-based Dot Net IT for an undisclosed sum. Under the terms of the acquisition, all the cloud services provider's outstanding equity has been acquired.

"Dot Net IT has been a consistently strong Epicor partner, aligned with our core values and focus on customer experience and business growth," said Sabby Gill, executive vice president of Epicor International.

"This acquisition brings knowledge and experience into the fold, as Dot Net IT serves numerous Epicor customers worldwide with implementation, cloud migration and IT infrastructure support, and has a track record of quickly and effectively resolving issues to keep their businesses running smoothly."

Gary Parfrey, managing partner at Dot Net IT, said: "We are pleased to join Epicor and bring the expertise we have honed selling, implementing and developing solutions for them as an alliance and channel partner.

"The team consists of experts in extending Epicor ERP functionality, and designing solutions to save customers time and maximise their technology investment, so they can focus on business growth."

Joint customer Keith Herring, head of IT at engineering firm Hayward Tyler, said the two firms had saved his firm.

"In 2013 we were close to going out of business," he said. "We had almost £1m in warranty claims and in some cases were over 170 days late delivering customer orders. However, through a dedicated turnaround team who galvanised the whole company and introduced systems to succeed and deliver for our customers, the turnaround was immediate."
