LOGICnow boss makes swift exit from SolarWinds

Alistair Forbes says his time spent at the firm in its various incarnations, including HoundDog and GFI MAX, had reached its natural conclusion

LOGICnow's former general manager, Alistair Forbes, has stressed he will "remain a friend" of SolarWinds after calling time on his short stint at the company that acquired his firm.

SolarWinds grabbed IT service management platform vendor LOGICnow in June and has since combined it with SolarWinds N-able to create SolarWinds MSP.

The combined entity serves 18,000 MSPs and has a team of 400 engineers worldwide.

LOGICnow general manager Forbes (pictured), who admitted at the time of the acquisition that it would inevitably lead to some headcount reduction, was appointed managing director of SolarWinds MSP but has now opted to move on, according to a company announcement.

"Having built HoundDog Technology more than a decade ago and seen it become part of GFI Software, as GFI MAX, then LOGICnow and now of course joining SolarWinds, I feel that my thoroughly enjoyable journey with this company has reached its natural conclusion," Forbes said.

"I remain a friend of the SolarWinds family and excited by the product development plans that SolarWinds MSP is implementing in the coming months."

John Pagliuca, who has worked alongside Forbes as part of the LOGICnow executive team for the past 18 months, will now assume leadership responsibility of SolarWinds MSP.

Forbes said his next venture remains unplanned.
