HPE picks distribution partners for Nimble Storage

Full Nimble portfolio will be moved to HPE price list on 1 November

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has selected three UK distributors for its Nimble Storage products.

HPE acquired Nimble earlier this year, shortly after it snapped up hyperconverged player SimpliVity.

Entry-level Nimble products were recently added to HPE's price list and the vendor has now confirmed its distribution line-up.

The full Nimble portfolio will be available from HPE's current distribution line up - Tech Data's Azlan TS, Ingram Micro and Westcoast - on 1 November.

HPE however told CRN that it's currently reviewing its distribution strategy ahead of its fiscal 2018 and is in discussions with Arrow ECS, who is the largest Nimble (and SimpliVity hyperconverged) distributor in the UK.

In a statement, HPE channel boss Mark Armstrong said: "As you may be aware, HPE announced that selected entry-level Nimble storage platforms were added to the HPE price list and made available to resellers via the existing HPE distributors in the UK," he said.

"Nimble distributors in the UK are Arrow ECS, Avnet (now Azlan TS) and Ingram Micro. HPE distributors for storage are Azlan TS, Ingram Micro and Westcoast.

"The remaining Nimble storage platforms continue to be available from the previously appointed Nimble distributors until 1 November 2017, when the full Nimble portfolio joins the HPE price list."

Westcoast was the first distributor in the UK to ship a Nimble Storage order from the HPE price list and managing director Alex Tatham said on LinkedIn: "Let me be the first to celebrate with our Westcoast sales and pre-sales team that have made HPE's first Nimble sale to a great UK reseller.

"This product needs to be seen to be believed and the channel is going to love InfoSight, the predictive analysis tool it comes with."
