New Avanade role for former Accenture exec
Andy Gillett has been appointed GM for the UK and Ireland
Microsoft consultancy Avanade has revealed Andy Gillett as its new general manager for the UK and Ireland (UK&I).
Gillett (pictured) previously spent 25 years with Avanade backer Accenture, where he most recently led its UK&I sales team for the company's communications, media and technology business, along with being part of the core leadership team.
He will report to Darren Hardman, Avanade's European president, who said that Gillett's knowledge and experience made him the ideal candidate for the job.
"It's a pleasure to welcome Andy into the Avanade family," Hardman said.
"I'm looking forward to working with him as he takes our UK&I business to the next level, helping our clients to maximise the impact of new and emerging technologies which will have a genuine impact on their employees and their customers."
Avanade, which is co-owned by Accenture and Microsoft in a joint venture, ranked 26 in CRN's Top VARs 2017, generating revenues of £119.7m.
Gillett said of his appointment: "I am excited to be taking on this role at a time when Microsoft is fast becoming a clear market leader across cloud, digital, business applications, data and artificial intelligence.
"The opportunity is significant, and I look forward to working with a fantastic team to deliver exceptional business and technology value to our client."
