SCC integrates acquired print business
£30m-plus business becomes part of parent reseller
SCC has integrated the M2 print business that it acquired in 2014, creating SCC Managed Print & Document Services.
The reseller giant bought the Manchester-based firm five years ago as part of a pledge to boost its services business.
SCC says that it has now "fully integrated" M2 into the overall business, creating the new division.
James Rigby, chief executive of SCC, said: "Our acquisition of M2 has proved hugely successful and our shared capabilities have had a substantial impact on our overall service delivery capability.
"Now is the right time to formally merge M2 into the SCC business as we continue to grow and evolve our combined managed print and document services (MPDS).
"The MPDS market has been on a convergence with IT for many years. Together as one, the business is well placed to seize the opportunity these trends present."
M2 had four offices - in Stretford, London, Wakefield and Glasgow - when it was acquired by SCC, with 180 members of staff.
M2 Digital Limited reported sales of £36.9m for the year ending 31 March 2018, down 20 per cent on the previous year.
According to a report filed with Companies House, the decline was a result of "several major projects" being delayed.
SCC added to its print business last year, acquiring £8m document management business Hobs On-Site.
