Block Solutions rolled out IT for 4,000-bed facility in London and has since worked on two more Nightingale facilities

Block Solutions CEO Marc Chang has opened up on the incredible speed required to roll out the infrastructure at NHS Nightingale hospitals.

The firm installed equipment at the London site in just seven days, and has since gone on to work on two more Nightingale facilities since.

"You could stand at one end and just about see the other end of the hall," he said. "I think you can fit 12 football pitches into both of the halls, so that's the scale.

"Pretty quickly we were trying to hit those first 500 beds because that's what they wanted it to be at opening.

"There was requirement for switches to be in the hall because of the density, so we had to install close to 1,000 switches across the hall.

"It was about ensuring that we had the right people on site quickly and because of our experience and expertise building IT in healthcare we were able to do that."
