'It's been a crazy ride': Infinigate's UK boss exits after 19 years

Murray Pearce leaves to 'pursue new opportunity'

The boss of Infinigate UK has exited the £25m-revenue security distributor 19 years after co-founding the firm as Vigil Software.

Murray Pearce has left his post of UK managing director to "pursue a new opportunity" effective at the end of this month, the company confirmed to staff last week.

Broadcasting his departure on LinkedIn last night, Pearce said he leaves "confident that the company will continue to prosper".

"What a brilliant, productive and, at times, crazy ride it has been," he said.

Pearce co-founded Vigil Software in 2001 before leading a successful acquisition of the firm in 2012 by pan-European outfit Infinigate. He became sole managing director in 2016 upon the departure of co-founder Alex Teh .

Infinigate has confirmed that the UK will now be jointly managed by group executives Patric Berger and Richard Huth.

"Murray is leaving the business in a good position and with our best wishes for the future," the firm stated in its email to staff.

Infinigate UK saw revenues swell from £25.1m to £27.2m in its fiscal year ending 31 March 2019.

Recent vendor signings, including SonicWall and Aerohive, will help bolster its 2020 numbers, the distributor said at the time it posted its 2019 results.
