Misco teases return of Comet brand
Household name set to return next month
Misco has teased the return of the Comet brand it bought last year, with the entity set to return next month.
The household British name went out of business 2012, but is set to return via a purely online play imminently.
A post on LinkedIn showed that Comet will relaunch on 10 August.
Misco told CRN: "After the success we've seen re-launching Misco we are extremely excited to yet again launch an iconic British brand as we bring back Comet to the UK Consumer.
"As with the launch of Misco we have had huge support from manufacturers, distributors and other partners that will help drive the Comet brand and we are expecting to bring a dynamic website with great offerings.
"We have also partnered with Klarna to provide flexible consumer payment options which we hope will fulfil the customer needs that saw Comet's success for many years."
Last year director Adam Muir told CRN that the relaunch of the brand will give it a strong foothold in the retail space.
"We understand the market is tough, but we hope to differentiate ourselves longer term. As always customers are our focus and we will always aim to have a high level of customer service," he said.
UK Computer Group has already taken a similar approach with fallen channel giant Misco, having bought the rights to the name and taken it towards £40m annual revenue, it said.
