MSP Arkphire acquired by $3bn-revenue US giant

$3bn-revenue Presidio claims deal will fuel business expansion into Europe and APAC

US reseller giant Presidio has launched into the European market after acquiring Dublin-based IT procurement and services company Arkphire for an undisclosed sum.

Presidio, which is a $3bn-revenue player in the US, claims it will use Arkphire as a platform to expand its business across Europe and Asia Pacific.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals but is expected to close in the first quarter of next year.

The deal would mark the first steps for Presidio outside of its home market in the US.

Presido is just one in a long line of US-based resellers to expand into the European market in recent years. WWT, Insight, CDW, SHI, Zones have all crossed the Atlantic and built thriving businesses in Europe.

Arkphire is a €160m-revenue firm with 250 staff and offices in Dublin, London, Singapore and Brazil.

The firm only this year closed a landmark acquisition of its own, after merging with local rival Trilogy Technologies to create what it claimed is the largest IT procurement and managed services business in Ireland.

Arkphire also expanded into Singapore this year through acquiring Apple reseller Generic Technologies.

Presidio CEO, Bob Cagnazzi, said: "Presidio was attracted to Arkphire by the quality of its portfolio of solutions and services, and the customer-centric culture of excellence that characterised the management team. The acquisition is expected to provide Presidio an opportunity to assimilate Arkphire's best practices into our own in the US, while providing Presidio a platform to scale our ambitions in Europe and Asia Pacific."

"This announcement with Presidio is a hugely positive development for Arkphire, our people and our customers, equipping us with the ability to extend our global reach and further evolve our service offering to customers in response to their changing needs," added Arkphire CEO Paschal Naylor.

"We are in the business of enablement. Being part of the enlarged Presidio family will open up many new possibilities and provide us with a natural partner to support the IT needs of our customers, regardless of where they want to do business."
