Arrow given pan-European deal for Broadcom's Symantec business
Distributor becomes first commercial aggregator for Symantec Enterprise across Benelux, DACH, France, Iberia, Italy, Nordics, the UK and Ireland
Arrow has become the first pan-European aggregator partner for Symantec's Enterprise Security business following its sale to Broadcom last year.
The US distributor claims the new deal with Broadcom's Symantec makes it the vendor's first commercial pan-European aggregator.
The deal covers the UK, Ireland, Benelux, DACH, France, Italy, Iberia and the Nordics.
Arrow will provide customer technical support directly for Broadcom's commercial enterprise clients and support the channel through new opportunities, driving renewals and working with its partners.
"Arrow is well placed to serve a large customer base with security solutions and value-added services within Broadcom's global cyber security aggregator programme, based on our proven track record with Symantec for many years," said Alexis Brabant, vice president sales of Arrow's enterprise computing solutions business in EMEA.
"Broadcom is fully committed to the channel, and we are pleased to expand our collaboration with this well-established vendor who serves the industry with a wide range of solutions, and to play a key role in their global network. The commercial aggregator agreement further enriches our solutions offering to our channel customers, helping them to protect their end user's infrastructures."
"No business is immune to the ongoing challenges of protecting against the ever-increasing threat landscape, as well as ensuring their regulatory compliance. We are delighted to secure this agreement with Arrow, as we know that our customers are in safe, expert hands, based on Arrow's long-standing collaboration with Symantec," said Apay Obang-Oyway, director of EMEA channel and alliances at Broadcom.
Broadcom's deal to acquire Symantec in 2019 caused friction and uncertainty for some of Symantec's European distribution partners.
Pan-European VAD Nuvias cut ties with Symantec in late 2019 claiming that Symantec's distribution strategy had changed following the deal. Other distributor bosses, including Infinigate CEO Klaus Schlichtherle, said that there had been a lack of communication from Symantec following its deal with Broadcom.
