CRN appoints Josh Budd as editor

Appointment comes as channel sizes up its post-Covid recovery

CRN is delighted to announce the appointment of experienced journalist Josh Budd as editor, effective 1 January 2021.

Budd (pictured) will take charge of the CRN brand after successfully growing sister title Channel Partner Insight over the last two years.

CRN has this year cemented its reputation as a hub for UK channel professionals, expanding into digital events through its ‘Channel Deskflix' series and providing much-needed clarity and insight to its audience through its news, analysis and indepth research.

Budd's appointment comes just as the channel begins to size up a post-Covid recovery and looks to tap into accelerating digital transformation opportunities.

"I'm excited to be joining CRN at such a pivotal time for the industry," Budd said.

"The channel is about to kickstart its Covid recovery, sparking challenges and opportunities in equal measure. There will be winners, and losers. More than ever before, UK channel professionals will need a fresh, trustworthy source of market intelligence to help them seize the opportunities ahead of them."

Budd oversaw the launch of CRN's global sister title Channel Partner Insight in 2019. It has accumulated a strong, growing and loyal audience of European and global channel executives and gained a reputation for hard-hitting news, interviews and analysis.

He will now lead CRN's news and analysis, as well as its brand, working closely with the wider team including group editor Doug Woodburn and reporter Marian McHugh.

Meanwhile, Channel Partner Insight multimedia editor Nima Sherpa Green will become Channel Partner Insight editor on 1 January.

Head of Channel Matt Dalton said: "In a short period, Josh has established Cha nnel Partner Insight as a trusted source of news, features, analysis and events for European and global channel executives.

"We are delighted that he has agreed to step across and helm CRN. In my view, 2021 could be the most exciting year in CRN and Channel Partner Insight's history as we seek out new ways to engage with our audience in the new ‘hybrid' world. In Josh and Nima, we have two very capable and talented journalists who can lead those endeavours."
