How much do top UK resellers pay their staff?
We sifted through the wage and headcount data buried in 350 sets of annual accounts to bring you the answers
How many staff do the UK's top resellers, MSPs and tech consultancies employ, and how much do they pay them?
These are the two key questions probed by the CRN Staff and Salaries Report 2021, available exclusively to CRN Essential subscribers (CLICK HERE TO VIEW).
Based largely on headcount and salary data buried in annual accounts filed on Companies House, the report delivers confirmation of the UK IT channel's buoyancy, with headcount and salaries both on the up.
And it also brings a few surprises.
Did you know, for example, that VAR 350 firms headquartered in London on average pay staff 71 per cent more than their counterparts in Yorkshire, or that security specialists' average wages top those of print outfits by more than £25,000?
The channel's notorious southern bias is also laid bare in the report, which reveals that almost half of the VAR 350 are headquartered in London and the South East.
Meanwhile, the VAR 350 as a whole employed around 4,000 more staff than a year previously - almost enough people to fill the Royal Albert Hall.
It is reassuring to hear from recruitment sources in this report that the opportunity for further channel jobs growth this year is "realistic".
Staff and Salaries comes hot on the heels of our VAR 350, which ranked and profiled the largest UK resellers, MSPs and tech consultancies on our radar, from £1.7bn-revenue juggernaut Computacenter downwards.
