A sneak peek inside Bechtle UK's new head office

Complete with a games room and individual 'working pods', Bechtle gives a sneak peek into its brand-new HQ in Chippenham.

Bechtle UK has announced that it has moved from its existing Chippenham head office to a new eco-friendly office located just minutes from its previous home.

The company's new premises, also on the Methuen Park business estate, used to belong to furniture designer Herman Miller and can hold between 150 and 200 staff.

Village Green is two-and-a-half times larger than its previous base Turnpike House, the company claims, and includes an "expansive" living space along with four electric car charging pods outside.

"It's extremely important post-COVID that the office becomes a community hub and a space that people feel happy to come into and want to spend time in," James Napp, managing director of Bechtle UK said.

"We acknowledge that people have been working surrounded by the comforts of their home, so we set out to create a living space which replicates that feel and brings with it the added benefits of ad-hoc collaboration, social interaction and allows our ‘work hard, play hard' culture to thrive."

The company has sought to modernise its workplace, with the new location featuring a games room, a high-tech customer experience centre and individual working pods for employees.

Bechtle took ownership of the office in July last year, but the Covid crisis delayed progress with refurbishing the office fit for Bechtle's employees.

Founded in Germany, the Bechtle business has been growing at a rate of knots over the past few years, with its UK operations opening up a second UK office, in Manchester, two years ago.

Bechtle ranked #65 in CRN's VAR 350 with 2019 revenues of £68.5m, up nine per cent on the previous year.

The VAR has also announced that it is continuing to expand its workforce across all departments and increased training and development for existing staff around growing areas such as hybrid IT, software, modern workplace and complementary professional and managed services.

"Our employees, customers and partners drive everything at Bechtle," Napp added.

"We have listened to what they wanted and have designed the space around a hybrid model, with connected screens in every room.

"It truly is a modern-workplace. We've even had a new shower block built for those fitness fanatics who want to exercise before, during or after work."
