Sapphire Systems makes fourth acquisition of 2021 with purchase of SAP firm
UK-based Opal Wave specialises in SAP enterprise performance management
Digital services provider Sapphire Systems has made its fourth acquisition of 2021 by purchasing SAP specialists Opal Wave.
Opal Wave focuses on "SAP enterprise performance management (EPM)" and "provides software, lifecycle services, managed and cloud hosting services" to businesses across the world.
The move will see "Opal Wave's deep domain expertise in SAP EPM, business planning and cloud analytics" combined with "Sapphire's leading enterprise software portfolio, creating a powerful digital operations capability", Opal Wave says.
"We are excited that the acquisition of Opal Wave now allows us to extend leading enterprise performance management, BI and cloud analytics expertise across our SAP Business One, SAP Business ByDesign and SAP S/4HANA Cloud clients, enhancing the depth of data value they can unlock," Ian Caswell, CEO, Sapphire Systems, said.
Opal Wave says the move, which is being supported by Horizon Capital, will help to "accelerate its growth and scale by being part of a larger organisation", with its customers able to "benefit from Sapphire's extended digital operations platform (DOP) portfolio".
The company also adds that Sapphire will "strengthen its EPM, business intelligence and cloud analytics capabilities" by adding "a team of highly skilled employees to its existing team of SAP experts".
Sapphire has already snapped up two SAP-based firms this year, InCloud Solutions and Pioneer B1, which followed the purchase of ServiceNow specialist ITOM Solution in January.
Caswell told CRN back in February that he wanted to quadruple the size of the business over the next three years, outlining ambitions to grow in the US market.
"We are excited at joining the Sapphire Group and the opportunities it provides to both our customers and prospects," Simon Bell, sales and marketing director, Opal Wave, said.
"In response to a changing market and technology landscape, SAP customers are in need of the specialist skills that allow them to improve their analytical and planning expertise, which supercharge their business operations and increases competitive advantage."
