Focus Group appoints Ensono's former Europe MD as new CEO
Taylor brings more than 20 years of experience across sales, finance and operations to his new position
Business telecoms provider Focus Group has named Ensono's former managing director for Europe, Barney Taylor, as the company's new CEO.
Taylor spent three years in the role with Ensono, according to his LinkedIn page, and brings more than 20 years of experience across sales, finance and operations to his new position.
Focus Group says his main responsibilities will be to "lead the day-to-day operation of the business, build its end-to-end strategy and drive ambitious organic growth, alongside taking responsibility for the continued expansion of the business through M&A activity".
"Focus Group has an outstanding track record of success and has outperformed the market for many years," Taylor said.
"It has a product portfolio that has its foundations in telecommunications but is now capable of delivering wider technology solutions and services across multiple market sectors, that include cybersecurity, connectivity and software-defined networking.
"I am very excited at the opportunity to work with Chris and Ralph and the talented Focus Group leadership team, to accelerate the ambition of this business, with support from Bowmark Capital."
In February, Focus Group - ranked 64th in CRN's VAR 350 - made use of a £150m war chest from private equity backer Bowmark Capital to acquire another comms VAR in swcomms.
And the company's managing director, Chris Goodman, is now setting his sights on further growth following Taylor's appointment.
