Cheltenham-based Bamboo Technology Group says it has reached a "key milestone in its continued growth strategy" by acquiring MSP TechTeam Limited.

TechTeam provides IT support, communications, and cloud services to small and medium sized business.

The Worcestershire-based firm partners with large vendors including Microsoft, Apple, HP and Cisco, and is headed up by founder and CEO James Green.

"TechTeam is extremely excited to be joining the Bamboo group," Green said.

"The team and I have put our hearts and souls into building a successful, customer centric IT Managed Services business, always aiming to exceed expectations.

"Our strong service ethos and people culture is also very much in evidence at Bamboo, and alongside our established managed service model, we are looking forward to working together to create opportunities for growth and development in products, services, customer base, skills sets and careers."

TechTeam will continue operating under its current arrangements as it integrates into the Bamboo group over the coming months, Bamboo said.

Bamboo has continued to transition away from offering telecoms services only to becoming a more complete ICT managed services provider in recent years.

Its latest deal follows the acquisition of Tech Op Solutions in 2019 and is "key to Bamboo's growth strategy" because it will enable the group to "expand its expertise, customer base and regional MSP footprint, whilst supporting its focus on education and employment in the sector", it said.

"Our overarching purpose at Bamboo is in helping others develop and grow and this is as much about the efficiency and productivity of the here and now as it is about protecting future operations,"Bamboo CEO Lorrin White said.

"We are now uniquely positioned to educate and inform a broad audience of businesspeople so that they can confidently connect and grow.

"Whether it's business as usual or digital transformation programs, it is imperative that we have the right people, with the necessary expertise, delivering all the right elements."
