Distology CEO: 'I don't like the term "distribution"'
VAD will also look at potential IPO in the future, Hayley Roberts reveals
Distology CEO Hayley Roberts has admitted she "doesn't like the term distribution", as she floated the potential of a future IPO for the Stockport-based VAD.
During a short video interview ahead of the publication of CRN's latest Top Distributors report, Roberts also argued that there aren't enough UK VADs left standing following a recent spate of acquisitions.
"Firstly I think ‘yay', because I lose the competition," she said.
"But the second take on it is ‘what a shame', as there are so many products coming to market that need the experience, market awareness and relationships with partners we have as smaller distributors that are not shy in doing the hard work to get a product to market. We simply can't say ‘yes' to every vendor."
In the interview, shown above, Roberts also picked out identity and access management as a potentially untapped area for the mainstream channel, estimating that Distology vendor Okta is "not even 30 per cent of what it could be in the UK".
