Content+Cloud CEO steps down to lead parent company's international expansion
Change in management comes after sale to Scandinavian MSP Advania Group last year
Content+Cloud's CEO has stepped down to take on a new role leading international expansion for parent company Advania Group.
Peter Sweetbaum will take on a new position within Advania Group as head of new markets, leading the firm's growth strategy within Europe "and other markets" as well as identifying and driving business opportunities.
Content+Cloud's group managing director, Geoff Kneen, will meanwhile leave his role after five years to become the new CEO of Content+Cloud. He will continue to drive the Microsoft partner's organic growth and M&A strategy.
The London-based Microsoft house was acquired by Scandinavian MSP giant Advania in December last year.
The deal marked Advania's first expansion outside of the Nordic market and created a business with £800m in revenues and 3,500 staff across the UK, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Sweetbaum and Advania boss Mikael Noaksson told CRN last year that Content+Cloud will continue to operate through a "decentralised" model in order to retain the firm's entrepreneurial spirit and experienced management team.
Content+Cloud went on to acquire Microsoft Dynamics outfit Azzure IT in April this year and announced in June that it has achieved Azure Expert MSP status with Microsoft.
Speaking about the management change, Sweetbaum said: "This is an exciting time for both Content+Cloud and Advania."
"It has been a great privilege to work alongside Geoff, CFO Andrew Insley and the incredibly talented C+C team to drive Content+Cloud's growth over the last eight years. C+C's success is down to a team of truly talented colleagues with a deep passion for delivering excellence through a customer-centric approach, building the business into a truly leading cloud services and digital transformation provider in the UK."
Kneen added: "I am extremely excited to lead Content+Cloud through its next phase of development and proud to be able to work alongside Andrew and the team to take C+C to new heights.
"The opportunity for growth and development within the UK market for our services is clear and we are excited by our planned organic and M&A related growth plans."
Advania Group's chairman of the board said: "We look forward to working with Geoff in his role as CEO as we continue to build on the great platform we have in the UK with Content+Cloud. We are committed to further develop and invest in the business, our great people and also focus on delivering more value to clients as we support them through their digital transformation journey. I am also looking forward to working with Peter in his new role as we look to expand and accelerate our growth in new markets and geographies."
