GreenLake is now a $7.7bn business and is growing at 86 per cent annually, HPE CEO Antonio Neri revealed as he unveiled his vision for the vendor's as-a-service offering.

During a keynote at CRN parent company The Channel Company's Xchange Best of Breed event in Atlanta, Neri said his ambition is for GreenLake to be a "North Star" for HPE customers, with the "entire company inside GreeLake".

In HPE's 2021 full-year results, the vendor revealed that it had added $1.5bn of GreenLake total contract value in the preceding year, bringing the total to more than $5.7bn. At the time, It said 900 partners sold HPE GreenLake, making it "one of the largest partner of ecosystems selling as-a-Service offerings in the industry".

In March, HPE opened up GreenLake through the marketplaces of four of its distributors and in June it introduced a number of updates and new cloud services to the platform.

Description

Talking at Best of Breed, Neri (pictured above) gave an update on GreenLake's financial metrics.

"If you look on the financial side, the business now is over $7.7bn in the balance sheet. This year, we are growing year to date [at] 86 percent. The number of partners that are transacting with GreenLake is now twice the number of partners compared to last year," he said.

"I feel that we are making progress but as always, the future belongs to the fast. You have to go further faster. That's has been my mission since, let's say, the pandemic because I feel this is the right strategy for the company. The partners have to transform too because the customers are demanding it."

Neri set out his vision for GreenLake, positioning it as the company's future.

"We are on a journey ourselves to make [HPE GreenLake] simple, to make it easy to deploy solutions and consume them. But in the end, make no mistake, it's going to be the entire company inside GreenLake. Even the wonderful servers that we sell today," he said during his keynote.

"For us, it's not about just being to be able to consume as-a-service, it's being able to run your entire business through HPE GreenLake."
