SCC has been named the second largest IT services company in France, according to a
The British group toppled IBM from the leading three in TOP 2022, a ranking of the 170 largest French Digital Services (ESN) and Engineering and Technology Consulting (ICT) companies by revenue, compiled by Numeum and KPMG.
SCC first entered the ranking in 2021 in third place, but this year went one better, outdoing several other giants such as Atos, which placed third, Sopra Steria (fourth), Accenture (fifth), IBM (sixth), Econocom (seventh) and Computacenter (thirteenth).
Capgemini took the top spot in 2022's rankings with revenues of €3.8bn.
UK reseller's French expansion
The group attributed its ranking to the dozens of IT contracts SCC holds in the French public sector in the last 12 months.
"As a major British, family-owned company, we're proud of the impact we continue to have at home and throughout Europe, particularly in France," said Rigby Group co-chief executive officer, Steve Rigby.
"To rank higher than some of the biggest and most established SSIs and global brand names such as IBM positions SCC among the global elite."
"Over the past 12 months we have made significant, positive changes to our businesses in the UK and France, including welcome additions to our leadership teams and a new set of values to better reflect our culture and family values.
"All of this has contributed to commercial growth and our achievement in becoming the second largest IT services company in France."
SCC focused on the public sector
Founded by Sir Peter Rigby in 1975, SCC turns over £2.64bn and has operations in the UK, France and Spain, and global service centres in Romania and Vietnam.
It is the technology arm of Rigby Group, the £3.36bn multinational holdings company for a portfolio of privately-owned businesses.
SCC entered France in 1998 and now employs 3,300 people at 23 city locations across the Republic.
James Rigby, SCC CEO and co-CEO of Rigby Group, added: "We continually reinvest in our people, services, and partnerships, which this year delivered outstanding financial performance across EMEA, with SCC France leading the way.
"This is a result of our strength in supporting public sector programmes which has flourished alongside particularly large growth in software services, which mitigated some of the supply chain constraints impacting hardware sales across the IT industry."
