Centerprise invests £6m in Welsh facility
Goal is to create 60 new jobs ranging from PC building to cloud provisioning
Centerprise International is aiming to create at least 70 new jobs in South Wales following a £6m investment in a new facility in Caerphilly.
The 70,000 sq ft IT operational facility will add "significant production capacity" for PC building and configuration services, the Basingstoke-headquartered outfit said.
Centerprise has maintained a presence in South Wales for 17 years, currently employing around 40 staff in the region. The new facility (pictured below right, with light-blue roof) is an extension of its existing 50,000 sq ft hub (directly to the left, white roof).
Founded in 1981 by chairman Rafi Razzak (pictured above, centre), Centerprise has fingers in numerous pies, including system building, reselling, distribution, IT recycling and IT asset management. Ranking 32nd in last year's CRN Top VARs, its fiscal 2021 revenues fell 16 per cent to £104.6m.
The new facility will act as the "never centre" for all technical operations within the Centerprise Service Division and boost its involvement in the Esports industry, Centerprise said.
Many of the new jobs, which will range from PC building to cloud provisioning, will be aligned to early-career apprenticeships, Centerprise stressed.
"The opening of this new operations centre signals a commitment to provide career opportunities in digital, data and technology for the current and future generations of Wales," said Centerprise International CEO Jeremy Nash (pictured top, right).
"This new facility also sits at the centre of Centerprise's drive to make the IT industry more sustainable by squeezing every ounce of value and useable life from each IT asset we deploy and support. We will use this facility to serve the interests of our valued customers, partners, and employees."
