Schools IT support provider Turn IT On gives lesson in M&A
Turn IT On boost coverage of north of England with acquisition of Leeds-based School ICT Services
Oxfordshire-based education services provider Turn IT On has acquired School ICT Services.
Established in 2009 and headquartered in Leeds, School ICT bills itself as one of the first and largest independent MIS (management information system) support providers.
Nationally it supports more than 1,000 schools.
"This is an exciting development for the staff, customers and partners of both businesses as we now move forwards together as part of a larger and even better resourced customer-focused group," School ICT said in a statement.
With Turn IT On based in the south of England and School ICT in the north, the two companies will now be able to provide their range of services to a wider geography.
The duo will maintain their brands with no plans to merge the two businesses together.
Steven Hutton, managing director of School ICT, added: "Turn IT On and School ICT coming together is an exciting development for both businesses as we share the same core values of placing our people and our customers at the heart of everything that we do.
"Combining our core strengths under our existing brands represents a real opportunity for the continued sustainable growth of the new group."
Turn IT On was founded in 2003 with a mission to help schools maximise their investment in ICT and use technology to its full potential.
It offers ICT and MIS support as well as GDPR services to more than 1,000 schools, local authorities and multi-academy trusts.
Financial details of the deal have not been revealed.
