Bechtle buys security expertise and appears in Spain
With the acquisition of IAM specialist Sastema, a Bechtle Competence Centre for Identity & Access Management is now being created
With 21 employees, Sastema GmbH, based in Hünfelden near Frankfurt/Main, is a security expert specialising in identity and access management and is now part of the Bechtle Group.
It will be integrated into Bechtle's system house in Frankfurt/Main. At the same time, a new Competence Centre will be launched, which will open up the topic of IAM to all Bechtle system houses in Germany.
The current managing director of Sastema, Sven Almoril, will take over the management. Sastema was founded in 2018 and generated sales of 2.2 million euros in 2022.
The fact that Bechtle is buying the comparatively young system house with IAM expertise shows how important this sub-area of IT security has become. Especially since Bechtle already has a competence centre for IAM in Switzerland.
Martin Schmidl, Bechtle's managing director of IT system house Frankfurt, welcomed sastema's team of "outstandingly trained specialists" on board, who will significantly strengthen Bechtle's IT security offering, which is an area of growing importance for businesses in light of increasing cybersecurity and regulatory pressures.
"Against the backdrop of sastema's impressive growth over the last few years, we were on the lookout for a strategic partner to support us in the next stage of our development and perfectly complement our expertise," said Sven Almoril, Founder, Shareholder and Managing Director of sastema.
"In Bechtle, we found the ideal environment, the perfect customer structure and excellent opportunities for growth, which ticked every box."
Bechtle's system house expands beyond German-speaking countries
Just last week, Bechtle announced the market entry of its systems house division in Spain. There, the German system house giant made its first acquisitions, namely Prosol Ingenieria S.L. and Prosol Iscat S.L. - two companies with a total of 50 employees and an annual turnover of around €15m.
As a result, Bechtle is now increasingly focusing on the international expansion of its services business in European countries outside the German-speaking region, where Bechtle is already represented with e-commerce platforms but has not previously had a systems house business. For a long time, such an expansion was considered too risky by the Bechtle Executive Board. That has now changed.
Since it was founded in 1983, Bechtle has acquired more than 100 companies, more than any other system house in Germany. After the early expansion of its B2B e-commerce business into European countries outside DACH, Bechtle wants to position itself there with system house services and is relying on acquisitions.
