NCC Group confirms layoffs in the UK
The company previously slashed it workforce a few months ago
Cybersecurity firm NCC Group is making job layoffs for the second time in six months.
Headquartered in Manchester, with more than 35 offices across the globe, NCC Group employs more than 2,000 people, according to its website.
The cuts are affecting its UK workforce as well as staff in North America, the group confirmed to CRN.
"As set out earlier this year, we have a renewed global strategy in response to changing market dynamics and client demands," said an NCC Group spokesperson.
"These macro forces are affecting the industry as a whole, which is why we must establish strong foundations for the future.
"Regrettably, this means that a relatively small number of our talented colleagues in the UK are in consultation and some based in North America have already left NCC Group."
The downsizing comes after the LSE-listed group announced plans to shed 125 employees als based in the UK and North America in February.
In March NCC appointed Doug Klotnia as its new global capability leader to build its managed services business.
More layoffs hit the industry
News of layoffs continue to hit the tech industry on a weekly basis as a result of over-hiring during the Covid-19 pandemic and inflationary pressures.
Servicenow announced on Monday plans to shrink its employee base by 15 per cent, also marking its second round of job cuts in six months.
While last week US cybersecurity vendor Rapid7 said it is shedding around 18 per cent of its workforce - about 470 employees, with significant cuts to sales and engineering - as well as permanently closing some office locations.
Other major vendors including Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo and AWS have also announced workforce culls this year.
