Cloud solutions MSP Aptum has appointed Ian Rae (pictured) to the role of CEO and president, it announced today.

JP Rosato, operating partner at investment firm Digital Bridge, which owns Aptum, will become chairman of the MSP's board.

David Wigglesworth, a new addition to the company, will become chief revenue officer.

All changes will come into effect on 1 September.

Wigglesworth's most recent role was SVP of global sales at Panzura, and prior to that he held senior executive positions at Commvault, OVH, VMware, and EMC Corporation.

Rae succeeds Susan Bowen, who helmed the company for the past five years.

During her tenure, Bowen presided over Aptum's transition from a traditional datacentre colocation provider to a managed service provider.

Most recently, in January 2023, the company acquired Montreal-based CloudOps, a cloud consulting, managed services and software company.

Rae founded CloudOps in 2005, as well as cloud.ca, a Canadian cloud computing platform.

He is actively involved as an advisor and angel investor in the Montréal, Québec, enterprise technology startup community, according to an Aptum press release.

"In the last few months, I have had the privilege and honour to work alongside one of the best in the business," he commented.

"Susan has built a world-class organisation with remarkable talent and a solid business plan, and I look forward to continuing to innovate and expand our comprehensive solution set. Aptum is well-positioned to offer true, end-to-end hybrid solutions for our global customers."

Rosato takes the chairman seat with over 30 years of design, engineering, and operations experience within large, complex technology environments.
