Distology becomes UK distributor for cyber-sec specialist OPSWAT
The deal follows signings with MSP Harbor and Drata earlier in the year
OPSWAT, a cyber-security vendor specialising in critical infrastructure protection (CIP) solutions, has teamed up with specialist distributor, Distology.
This collaboration aims to integrate OPSWAT's IT and operational technology solutions into Distology's cybersecurity operations portfolio.
The addition of OPSWAT's end-to-end cybersecurity platform will add a CIP component to Distology's cybersecurity portfolio, spanning workspace security, multi-cloud security, cybersecurity operations, and OT cybersecurity.
This partnership is particularly timely, given the escalating malicious activity targeting the UK's critical infrastructure, the two companies stated.
Recent reports from UK government sources highlight the country as the third most targeted globally for cyber-attacks, prompting parliamentary inquiries into the resilience of the nation's critical national infrastructure.
Alessandro Porro, VP global channel sales at OPSWAT, stressed the significance of this partnership in addressing security gaps amid evolving threats.
"As OT and IT systems converge for greater business efficiency, managing security gaps can become a challenge. This is where OPSWAT comes in to detect and prevent sophisticated attacks that can evade traditional signature-based and behaviour-based anti-malware defences," he stated.
Lance Williams, chief product officer at Distology, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasising the disruptive nature of OPSWAT's MetaDefender Core and its contribution to their OT cybersecurity portfolio.
"OPSWAT brings something new and disruptive to Distology's cybersecurity operations portfolio, with the strength of the MetaDefender Core, and adds important dimensions to our developing OT cybersecurity portfolio," he added.
As part of the partnership, Distology will join OPSWAT's channel partner programme, allowing it to expand its service offerings and support enterprises in securing its essential infrastructure.
This programme provides Distology with dedicated support, including a channel team for sales enablement and access to training through the OPSWAT Academy.
This is the latest edition to Distology's vendor roster, which signed with security platform Drata as its first UK distributor in April. That same month, Distology partnered with MSP Harbor in the first instance of the distie helping an MSP go to market as a vendor.
