Westcon buys AWS partner Rebura to boost cloud 'skills'
The distie will continue to focus on 'cyber, cloud and hybrid solutions', a spokesperson told CRN
IT distributor Westcon-Comstor has acquired AWS advanced service partner and solution provider Rebura to boost its cloud capabilities and channel-focused services.
Westcon-Comstor partners said the deal will provide a comprehensive suite of AWS solutions encompassing cloud consultancy, migration services, FinOps, AWS Marketplace excellence and security-aligned professional services.
Founded in 2017, London's Rebura specialises in supporting AWS cloud migrations, modernisations, SaaS and DevOps across the UK, Nordics and central Europe.
In 2023, Rebura and AWS signed a strategic collaboration agreement, highlighting Rebura's value. Rebura holds seven AWS competencies including migration, Microsoft workloads and DevOps.
As a qualified and accredited AWS advanced partner, Rebura assists companies of all sizes in building and optimising their apps and workloads on AWS, increasing productivity, scalability, efficiency and security.
"These are growth areas for partners, but not all have the knowledge to enable customers within AWS.
"With Rebura's skills, we can support partners by offering their consulting services through Westcon and Comstor. Partners will access Rebura's expertise in migration and more, to offer these services to their customers," a Westcon spokesperson told CRN.
Rebura will be a standalone entity, forming Westcon-Comstor's AWS business line and leveraging its extensive global reseller network.
Following sustained organic growth, including double-digit revenue rises, this acquisition, Westcon said, represents a new pillar in its strategy of targeted buys.
"Migrating to the cloud while maintaining security are big challenges," said Westcon CEO David Grant.
"This represents an opportunity for the channel, but many partners lack the skills. This acquisition will enable them to access these capabilities through Rebura."
Looking ahead at other investments, Westcon stated: "We see a hybrid future. Our vision is to provide partners with the skills and enablement for traditional networking, cybersecurity and hybrid cloud. AWS is key to realising that strategy.
"We'll continue focusing on cyber, cloud and hybrid solutions, and invest in enabling this vision."
