James Clark returns to Apogee as CEO

Apogee has appointed James Clark as its new chief executive officer, replacing outgoing CEO Aurelio Maruggi after almost four years.

Clark (pictured) originally joined the managed workplace services provider from HP Inc where he was head of finance western European markets for over a year and a half.

He would then go on to become CFO of Apogee for three years following HP's acquisition of the business in 2018, until returning to the technology vendor in 2022.

"I know the journey that Apogee is on, and I shall be progressing the growth strategy developed under the fantastic leadership of my predecessor Aurelio Maruggi," said Clark.

"With the strength of a great brand like HP behind us, added to the investment we have made, Apogee is set to see strong growth in many areas of the business, especially managed IT services which we expect to double as a percentage of the business over the next three-to-five years."

Clark states he will spearhead Apogee's focus on being a "customer-first" organisation, meeting the evolving needs of businesses in a fast-changing world where agility and sustainability are major priorities.

The Maidstone-based VAR has enjoyed a string of major milestones in the last year, including the acquisitions of Datatron and Argon to extend the capabilities and scale of its core services.

In 2023, the company recorded significant growth in many of these service areas, including managed print services (28 per cent growth), outsourced document services (25 per cent growth) and managed IT services (24 per cent growth).

"The product offering has matured incredibly. As a customer-first company we must use our insights to meet the unmet needs of our customer base by knowing our customers almost better than they do," Clark added.
