Bechtle posts seven per cent growth despite challenging economy
German IT solutions provider Bechtle exhibited continued business expansion and solid financials in its 2023 fiscal year
German IT solutions provider Bechtle AG has released its preliminary financial results for FY 2023, exhibiting continued business expansion despite economic headwinds.
The company achieved solid growth across key metrics, including a 7.8 per cent increase in revenue to €6.4bn and 6.7 per cent growth in earnings before taxes (EBT) to €374m.
Bechtle's overall business volume rose 7 per cent year-over-year to reach €7.8bn.
The EBT margin held steady at 5.8 per cent, on par with the previous fiscal year's level.
As of 31 December, 2023, Bechtle employed 15,159 people across Europe - an addition of 1,113 employees from 2022 for a staff increase of 7.9 per cent.
"Bechtle was able to successfully weather 2023's intense economic challenges, once again outperforming the market with a growth of 7 per cent," stated Dr. Thomas Olemotz, CEO of Bechtle.
"This was another impressive team effort on the part of all our colleagues across Europe and also underpins just how resilient our business model is even in the face of harsh conditions."
Olemotz credited the company's public sector and major account business as showing particularly positive expansion in 2023.
Despite inflation, supply chain disruptions and an impending recession, Bechtle continued its upward growth trajectory last fiscal year.
Bechtle plans to publish final 2023 fiscal year results, audited and approved, on March 15, 2024.
Earlier this year, Bechtle hired Mathilde Bluteau to take the helm at Bechtle France from 1 April. Joining from distribution powerhouse TD SYNNEX, Bluteau's appointment is part of the continued growth strategy the German reseller is aiming for its European business.
