Cloud backup vendor Keepit opens UK headquarters

Cloud backup vendor Keepit has opened a UK headquarters in London as it further expands into the British market.

Its VP for UK, I and MEA Jerry Mumford will be leading the UK team from the London office.

Over the past three years, the Danish vendor has seen 100 per cent year-on-year growth in the region and is on target to repeat this in 2024, it says.

The vendor added the announcement builds on a recent $40m refinancing package from HSBC Innovation Banking and the launch of the Keepit partner network as the company evolves to a partner-only strategy.

"Keepit has partnered with the likes of Phoenix, CDW and Softcat and is looking to recruit a blend of larger partners in the same vein, as well as some smaller more focused partnerships," Mumford told CRN.

"As our product develops, we will be evolving our ecosystems within the Salesforce community as well."

He said the vendor is planning to launch a new partner programme across EMEA which includes training and certification, enabling partners to gain different levels of accreditation.

"We will be looking at rolling out marketing plans with all our partners in the UK, and have, for example, an incentive running with Phoenix where their top sellers will receive an all-expenses paid trip to our HQ in Copenhagen."

According to Mumford, Keepit is the only backup vendor that provides the benefits of breadth of application support in conjunction with other differentiating factors.

The company said all of its partners have access to sales and marketing assets, and Keepit actively encourages joint activities to promote the message that their platform is different than others on the market.

"Establishing a stronger base in the UK is an important step for us: an opportunity to build on the foundations we already have here and grow our partner ecosystem and customer base," he added.

"The UK market is significant, with a robust IT infrastructure and high levels of new technology adoption. But that means it is also a key target for cybercriminals and of course data loss can seriously impact business continuity.

"Our commitment to vendor independence, broad service coverage, fast recovery times and dedication to security will mean that more UK organisations will have the resilience to keep their businesses running, even when disaster strikes."

Launched in 2007 and built exclusively for SaaS applications, the Keepit platform is a vendor-independent cloud (i.e., not using any of the public cloud vendors) dedicated to SaaS data protection.

Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, with offices in the US, Germany and now the UK, Keepit said all of its datacentres in the Americas and EMEA are powered by 100 per cent renewable energy to limit their environmental impact and help its customers meet sustainability targets.
