Bechtle acquires Spanish Apple reseller iDoo Tech
The acquisition is part of the reseller’s expansion plans in the Spanish market
Germany's Bechtle has acquired Apple reselling specialist iDoo Tech to expand its presence in the Spanish market.
The acquisition follows Bechtle's announcement it was entering its systems house division in Spain.
There, Bechtle made its first acquisitions in August 2023, namely Prosol Ingenieria and Prosol Iscat - two companies with a total of 50 employees and an annual turnover of around €15m.
The German reseller has had a foothold in Spain since 2001 with its e-commerce company, Bechtle direct, and with iDoo Tech now employs some 150 staff in the country.
Headquartered in Zaragoza, iDoo Tech has branches in Madrid and Barcelona and employs 13 staff. It achieved revenues of €6.4m (£5.48m) in the 2023 fiscal year - two-and-a-half years after its founding.
Retaining his role as MD, Rafa Cayuelas has 30 years' experience in the sale of Apple products and until 2018, he was the long-standing MD and co-owner of K-tuin.
Cayuelas will continue to lead iDoo Tech, which will operate as an independent brand, along with his usual management team consisting of Eduardo Cayuelas and Fran Fuentes.
iDoo Tech's focus is on the B2B sale of Apple products including consulting, training and support.
Bechtle Spain plans to have all its Apple business handled by iDoo Tech with the aim of achieving Apple authorised enterprise reseller status to offer enterprise customers an even more extensive service and solution portfolio on top of hardware sales.
"We see excellent avenues for further growth with Bechtle and the chance to offer our customers an even more wide-ranging portfolio," said Rafa Cayuelas.
Konstantin Ebert, COO of IT E-commerce at Bechtle added: "With iDoo Tech, we have a great opportunity to bolster our Apple business and foster relations with one of the most important vendor partners on the Spanish market. We are also gaining a well-established team that will help us achieve our growth targets."
This is the second acquisition by the German reseller since October 2023, when it acquired a 51 per cent stake in Rostock-based AI firm, Planet AI.
