British MSP Air IT makes 12th acquisition with SCS Technologies takeover
The acquisition is part of Air IT’s wider buy-and-build strategy to expand across the UK
Air IT has acquired British solutions provider SCS Technologies to make its 12th acquisition since 2020.
Both SCS and Air IT specialise in the delivery of outsourced, managed IT support services for the UK SME market.
The announcement comes eight months after Air IT revealed it was buying Yorkshire-based IT service provider Vital Technology Group.
"SCS are a great addition to our team, sharing a similar approach, culture, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients," said James Steventon, CEO at Air IT.
"With a strong focus on our core services including managed IT support and Microsoft technologies, we're looking forward to combining our joint knowledge, skills and experience to deliver even greater results for our valued clients."
Matthew Stead, MD of Lincoln-headquartered SCS explained how the company spent the last 30 years developing and growing into a successful regional business with an enviable local reputation and how joining Air IT will add technical expertise, skillsets and capabilities to its portfolio.
"We are very much looking forward to continuing our journey of growth and establishing Air IT as the IT partner of choice for SMEs in Lincolnshire and beyond."
Founded in 2005, Air IT is a private equity-backed SME-focussed MSP offering IT support, cloud infrastructure and modern workplace, as well as specialist divisions in cybersecurity and business intelligence.
The acquisition is part of larger buy-and-build strategy Air IT kicked off after being acquired by August Equity, with former GCI and Solar Communications boss John Whitty leading the business.
Whitty took over the role from Todd McQuilkin, who founded the Nottingham-based business.
Speaking to CRN, Whitty said he planned to implement an M&A strategy which would take Air IT into new regions nationally.
"I've been working with Air IT on and off for about three years and recognise that they have an excellent platform in terms of the investment they've made in people and training, the automation tools in place, and systems in the background," he said.
